Poleturner's starts at Pilchuck today

Glassblowers from around the world arrive at Pilchuck in Stanwood, WA today to begin work on the school's auction centerpieces. Czech engraver Jiri Harcuba's designs will be executed by gaffers Martin Janecky, Jay MacDonnell, and Jeff Ballard along with the "Poleturner's Union Local 1201." The Poleturner's Union is made up of selected volunteers from the northwest and beyond. They will work for two weeks and recieve room and board for their services of making more than 100 centerpieces.
