Howard Ben Tre's Water Forest

For a long time, ever since I moved to and then moved away from Tacoma, there was a metal gate circling a patch of concrete outside the Museum of Glass. It reminded me of the zoo exhibits when you'd look and look for the animal that was supposed to be in the cage thinking it was camouflaged and then you found out there was no animal there, it was getting a bath or something. I don't know for sure if this empty cage is where Howard Ben Tre's "interactive exhibit" Water Forest is going, but judging from this picture I think it is.

From the Tacoma Museum of Glass's Facebook page: "At long last, Howard Ben Tre's interactive sculpture, Water Forest, is being reinstalled on MOG's Main Plaza by the City of Tacoma! The artwork was inspired by the rise and fall of the tides. When completed, water will rise and fall inside the tubes. We'll be happy to have it back on view and fully operational in the coming days."
